St. Thomas More Commandery No. 497 was established to create a platform for Catholic Men in Achimota and its environs to live out their Faith through service to the Church and Community. Since its inauguration, the Commandery has grown steadily in Membership, Discipline, and Devotion, earning recognition for its active participation in Church and Order activities.
The Commandery operates under the jurisdiction of the Accra West Grand Commandery and the Second Regiment, aligning its Mission with the overall vision of the Knights of St. John International in Ghana — to build men of strong Faith, Commitment, and Leadership in both Spiritual and Social Life.
Loyalty reflects our steadfast commitment to God, the Church, and our noble Order. A true Knight remains faithful to his vows, upholds the teachings of the Catholic faith, and serves with integrity and devotion. Through loyalty, we preserve the rich traditions of the Order and strengthen the bond between our members and our sacred mission.
Unity calls us to work together as one body of Christ, bound by brotherly love and mutual respect. It is through unity that we achieve strength — standing side by side in prayer, service, and action. In our parishes, communities, and commanderies, unity ensures harmony and collective purpose as we strive toward the greater good.
Charity embodies the spirit of Christ’s love in action. It compels us to serve the poor, comfort the sick, and uplift the needy without seeking reward. Through acts of charity, we bear witness to the Gospel and reflect the compassion of our patron, St. John the Baptist, whose life was one of sacrifice and service to others.
